Rtronix has engineered contribution solutions on XVD
Encoders, which offer Real time compression at Data Rates from 500 Kbps to 5 Mbps using Real time
Video Compression Technology. The XVD’s patented Video Codec provides much higher performance and
efficiency than other block based Video Compression systems. The Video Codec, optimized for the
human visual system, adds several unique features including Automatic Scene change detection,
Object Motion estimation and CBR/VBR bit rate control to improve Video quality at dramatically
lower data rates. XVD has designed its solutions taking the positive compression features of MPEG 4,
H.264 and VC – 1 compression architectures resulting in high Compression efficiency, better than the
current WMV9/VC1 architectures. The advantages include:
- High performance at very low data rates
- Resultant RF sizing is also optimized through usage of low bandwidth carriers.
- The Encoder provides IP on the Network Interface, resulting in interfacing with standard Satellite Modems.
- IP Interface eliminates Encryption of the signal, which is mandatory as per MIB guidelines.
- Bit reallocation within the available bit budget between the needs of high motion and low motion video scenes.

standard MPEG2 Encoders and XVD Encoders, Whereas XVD Encoders can provide Real Time, Broadcast quality
Encoding from as low a rate as 500 Kbps, normal MPEG2 Encoders need to be programmed for a minimum of 1.5
Msps for standard Video quality. |
